Sweet Petunia Pet Care, LLC is named after my amazing dog Petunia. I lost her at the very old age of 19. Petunia came into my life while I was working at the Dutchess County SPCA when a stray mommy arrived at the shelter with her 9 pups! Petunia was the runt. I took one look at this meek, frightened little fuzzball and knew I had to have her. I begged my mother to allow me to bring her home until she finally gave in! She was by my side from the time I was 17 years old until I was 36. You can imagine how much she went through, as did I, during that time of my life! Petunia was the sweetest, gentlest, smartest dog I have ever known. I miss her every day!
After over 20 years working in the veterinary hospital environment, I decided to branch off and start my own small pet boarding company. I know how stressful it can be to leave our pets behind!
I share my home with my children and our every growing menagerie. Our dogs Riley, Frida, Coco and Macchiato love to meet and play with new friends!
Thank you! I couldn’t do it without you!

Dog Boarding:
Current rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations as well as a current negative stool sample. Dogs must be treated with a veterinary recommended flea and tick preventative.
Please note canine influenza vaccination strongly suggested.
Dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed or neutered.
Dogs must be housebroken.
Crate trained dogs are preferred. Other arrangements may be made at my discretion.
IMPORTANT:
For the safety and well-being of all pets, all potential boarding dogs must schedule a meet and greet prior to their stay. The meet and greet may take place in my home or in yours. Please be prepared to spend up to 30 minutes with your pet at this meeting. There are no additional charges for the meet and greet. Please schedule in advance with enough time to make alternative arrangements if the meet and greet does not work out. While I have had much success, sometimes certain pets are not compatible. All final decisions will be made by myself.
All pets entering my home must be mild tempered, well socialized and happy around the resident children, dogs, cats and chickens!
No exceptions.
PLEASE NOTE: (If applicable:) I will not use a retractable leash to walk your dog. Please be prepared to provide a regular nylon or leather leash for walks. Pups with basic leash manners are appreciated. If your dog is unruly or aggressive on a leash, when/if necessary, I will use an appropriate walking alternative to temper the issue. Example: Gentle Leader Head Collar or Easy Walk Harness. While I have experience and knowledge of basic obedience training, I am NOT a trainer! I want to provide a pleasant walking experience for your dog.

"So, a brief word on Sweet Petunia Pet Care.
I have a chihuahua. He is an epileptic. He requires medication twice a day. He can be naughty and sometimes won’t eat “just because”. He lives in a house with all cats.
That being said, we have found OUR pet care expert. I had never left him anywhere but my folks home. When we left Johnny in Jessica Ippolito-Soi’s and her family’s hands he had an amazing time.
He ate every day, took his meds, and had wonderful humans and animals to interact with. The photo updates made me tear up. I never ONCE worried about my little guy while away.
When we picked him up, he didn’t want to leave!
Thank you so much! This is the BEST choice for a pet-sitter who will take pets into their home. Johnny loved it all, but especially the little girls who played with him constantly!"

"Jessica is an exceptionally honest and caring person who is devoted to the care and happiness of animals. I have known her for several years and I would recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter . She is also skilled in the veterinary medical world and will be able to deal with any problems that may arise."

"Jessica is one of the most compassionate people I know! She is kind, patient, responsible, and has a lot of knowledge about the veterinary profession. She loves animals and would be the best choice for pet boarding and pet sitting for your pets. I highly recommend her!!!!"

"We came to Jessica with A LOT of needs and dogs and she accommodates us more than I could have asked for in regards to our fur babies. She is literally with our dogs everyday and some days our youngest spends the whole day with her and when we get off work our dogs are calm and happy. She is very attentive and sends me updates and pictures (which I love) I feel confident in her ability to handle our dogs ( shepherds, all over 70 pounds) and all with very different personalities. We couldn’t be happier with her services! We trust her in our home, trust her with our dogs. My dogs love her!! They get excited to see her and the little one whined for her to come back after she dropped him off today (that right!!! Dropped him off!) she goes above and beyond! And she is very knowledgeable about dogs and caring for them. It’s more than obvious her knowledge from years of working with animals!!! You will not be disappointed, this lady is phenomenal!"

I had an extremely positive experience boarding my almost 1 year old pup, Murphy, with Jessica and her family. From the free home visit to the time I picked up Murphy, I had no complaints and felt so comfortable with my pet in her home. Her family is also wonderful & welcoming. Her young dog, Bowie, was a sweet and energetic companion for my puppy. You can tell he is extremely comfortable with other dogs and loves being their friend. Their home is beautiful and so dog-friendly! They have a fenced in back yard which was a treat for my pup. Jessica is so amazing, she sends pictures and updates on your dog while you are away. She is also so kind and loving with your pet. My pup is crate trained and Jessica has multiple crates in her house so you don't have to lug your crate there. The rates are really reasonable and she goes above and beyond to make sure your fur kid is given a ton of attention and exercise. When I picked up Murph, she & her daughter were so kind and I received a sweet card, a picture and some treats for Murphy. I will definitely use Jessica's services again when I am looking to board my dog. In addition, he slept so well after I picked him so I knew he had lots of exercise. That is an extra benefit for a tired pet parent who just stepped off a plane.
